when will companies/applications start rewarding people for being early adopters/beta testers?

It all depends of the company approach on this. Some are already giving incentives to beta testers (gadgets for the best ones, free products/services/subscriptions), but other companies have the false impression that the tester should be honored already, because he experiences the product before anyone else.

Hey Alin, that's a pretty valid point, I think they do feel we should be honored, and I do think we feel that way early on. After something is huge though, it would be a nice touch.
